help with gaming PC.

I want to get a new gaming PC but I don't know what processor or graphics card to use. I heard that you should always put GPU before CPU in terms of how much you spend, so I'm thinking about getting and intel i3 3240 processor and an nVidia GeForce GTX 650 graphics card. I want to be able to play games like Skyrim, Battlefield 3, DayZ and minecraft on decent settings, I'm not bothered if I can't play on the highest settings though.

Sorry if this is in the wrong topic btw.

Unfortunately with £500 there's not alot you can afford. A decent intel build will cost you £700+ with an AMD card and if you wanted an Nvidia card you're looking more towards the £900-1200 mark.

For your budget, Keynes's build is the way to go. Only slight improvements is possibly doubling to ram for an extra £20 or so which will take you to 8gb. Not essential though as you can always add more later on.

I hear that AMD's new Trinity APUs can be worth considering if price - initial and ongoing - is an over-riding concern. Bulldozers can be a bit thirsty.

Good enough specs?

Would these specs be good enough to run games like BF3, Skyrim etc on decent settings?
