£1000ish Cosmos 2 17.3" Laptop - Mid Gaming, CAD, 3D modelling, Rendering & gen. use
Hi All,
I'm replacing my old PCS Enigma 3 15.6" laptop (2nd gen i7, 8gb ram, gt 540m gpu). i've been hovering for a while (since january!!!) not really being able to make a decision. however after reading the reviews from PC sites and other customers, checking specs on CPU boss etc. i think i've got it decided. Please have a look over and let me know if anything would benefit from a change (i've put more info on what I'm after below the specs)

I'll be using this laptop as a general machine - browsing, office documents, as well as mid level gaming; Minecraft, the older Total Wars, whatever steam tricks me into buying during the next sale etc..
I will also be using it for CAD and 3D modelling. Mostly AutoCad 2D, Sketchup, Vray and a bit of Revit and ArchiCad.
Largely the Laptop will be staying in place or if it is moving it will be from one bit of the house to another, however i will occasionally need to be able to take it with me as well as using it on my lap for lighter stuff - books, video etc. (why i'm looking at the cosmos rather than the heavier laptops)
The only issue i ever have with my old 15.6 Enigma 3 machine is a very frequent and loud fan - often for no reason. As well as (after the first couple of years) some uncomfortable heat issues on my left palm when gaming - (this is why i've gone with the i5 rather than an i7 this time around as well as a larger 17 inch case)
final thing, because i have to put a limit somewhere otherwise i'll get carried away, i don't want to spend over £1000. (not counting the insurance, postage, spare battery etc.)

P.S - on the config there was the screen option i chose and an identical one that added £49 to the bill - is this a typo should the +£49 one be an IPS etc..?
