Hi guys. So i have this PC which i bought from PC world:

I have a home studio which i use to record local artists. I bought this pc to upgrade from my 6 year old acer pc but i am having issues. When plugging in my Audio Interface (Scarlett 2i2) and my studio monitors (5" KRK Rokits) i am getting a strange interference that is like a constant hum. The sound alters whenever i move the mouse, click on something or open a program.

So i've googled it loads and done everything i can think of:

Make sure everything is plugged into the same outlet, used a completely different outlet in the house, took out any devices except the basic and wired stuff like keyboard and monitor, used the rear usbs and tried the front 2, i have tried an older audio interface instead. Lastly ive plugged the entire system ancillaries straight into my gaming laptop (HP omen 17) in which the problem was eliminated instantly.

This leads to my thinking that it is a noisy motherboard or something and for whatever reason there seems to be interference travelling through the usb ports. Any help would be great as i cannot record, monitor or do any audio production on my 1 month old PC that i spent 1700 quid on n its sooo gutting :(

This is why it's always worth getting advice for a PC build.

This isn't really designed for Audio work, you really need some specific motheboards for that.

That aside though, I'm sure we can improve things.

First thing to do would be to register the PC with PCSpecialist, that will give you an online account with all your details and downloads. It also activates your warranty.

Then post back with your specs from the order page and we can help further.

When you're ready, just post back with your full specs and any sound card you're using or speakers or whatever may be plugged into the PC for audio.
