120hz question, not really a problem

Hi there a question if you would not mind helping with, i am going to get a 120hz monitor and would like to know how to connect this up to my pc as i beleive hdmi will not work correctly, i am running 2 gtx670 in sli and want to know where and what to plug in to get the 120hz display displaying correctly , and also if you would reccomend a good monitor at least 27" bigger would be better , and if i need cables . i know the gpus are referance cards and is a pc from pc specialist if that makes any difference , thank you for your time

Usually a 120hz will come with the necessary DVI cable to support the refresh rate.

You will need a dual link dvi cable, Keynes is right on the ball though most monitors will come with the necessary cables.

i have a pc from here at pcs with a gtx 780 running 3 monitors, BenQ XL2411T, BenQ XL2411T and XL2411Z (slightly newer version)

If you use just a basic HDMI cable the monitor will only be able to get up to 60hz

The monitor if advertised as a 120hz/144hz monitor will come with the correct cables required, for mine i just used the DVI cables they came with and it allows me to get up to 144hz, im not sure of the difference between 120hz and 144hz but the difference between 60hz and 120hz/144hz is very noticeable to me, for me only two of my monitors are 144hz and the other via HDMI is only 60hz
