14" Lafite order without SSD?

Hey all,

So, I broke my previous Lafite 2, I had it for 4 years.

The motherboard needs replacing and PCSpecialist has informed me that the manufacturer no longer makes the part for the laptop.

I am thus considering the 14 Lafite IV. However, there is no option in the build configurator to remove the SSD. I have been told on the phone I need to have a SSD installed.

But I would rather just use the old SSD I have with ubuntu installed. Has anyone tried such a thing before (building a system without a SSD with PCS)?

Does the new chassis have fingerprint sensor?

Also, Lafite IV or just the standard one? Factor is weight and portability for me.

Thank you,

You have to have a storage drive in the build so that PCS can run the testing software. It's not optional I'm afraid.

Just put the smallest & cheapest drive in thas on the configurator, then swap your old drive in once you've got the laptop
I'll do that.

Any ideas on how much the 15.6" Lafité IV weighs? Does it have a fingerprint sensor?

Thank you
