144 vs 60 hz ( Not Sure help pls )

Hi Guys,

I bought a desktop from pcspecialist but I am not sure about monitor (24 inch). I have GTX 980 Ti as GPU.

The thing is 144hz vs 60hz is it really worth it ?

What is the advantage of 144hz or what is the disadvatange of 60hz for gaming ? like arma 3

I would advise picking a 144hz monitor over a 60hz monitor. Firstly, there is a noticeable difference, particularly if you like playing shooters such as CoD and Battlefield. Secondly,although ARMA 3 will stick closer to the 60fps mark than the 144fps mark, you are able to cap the monitor at different refresh rates (such as 120hz, 85hz etc) so whilst you wont be able to make full use of it in ARMA 3, you will see a significant difference in other games.


The 980ti is a beast of a card, and at 1080p it maxes out my 144hz refresh rate monitor on the majority of games. In my opinion they're a worthwhile purchase, and at a starting price of roughly £150, you can't go wrong!

I am currently running 60hz 1440p and am waiting until Asus release the 1440p 144hz 27 IPS panel Q4 of this year. Acer already have one on the market but the build quality is dubious and lots of them have bad backlight bleed problems. The Asus will basically be the same panel I believe, I am just hoping quality control is better.

I will buy this one "BenQ XL2411Z LED 24-inch W Gaming Monitor" lots of good comments. Lets see how it is. I never used 144hz so it will be first time.

Nice to hear good reviews :)

I have built my dream Desktop so I really want to have a nice monitor too as I read the reviews, it looks like this is the best option for gaming.
