I came to the forums about early last year with similar plans, but never got to follow them through due to financial issues. Now the opportunity is looking tangible again, and I've upgraded to a rough draft build.
My monitor will be an Acer XV322QUP, with a 31.5" 1440p screen at 165Hz. The monitor is still an open issue, and like other components, is limited by my location. The monitor price is separate from the budget for the specs below. I'm open to any suggestions regarding a monitor though. A more expensive alternative that seems to be available here for 435£ is the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD, which stays just shy of the 450£ maximum I'd like to spend on a monitor.
My usage will by and large be gaming (Hell Let Loose, World of Warcraft, War Thunder, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc) with occasional video/short film/photo editing, which makes the monitor type fairly important. I've justified the 32GB of RAM with editing and rendering videos and short films.
My budget is limited by the 20% import tax that Estonian customs demand on electronics; paying 1500£ on the site will ultimately add up to 1800£. This is reflected in the local PC component prices, meaning I'd hit my budget halfway through trying to source the parts here.
I chose the RTX 3070 Ti because of my initial plans for a 3070, but it being out of stock at the moment, I'd rather pay a little more than compromise with getting an AMD card. Motherboards and cooling are the two weakest links in my knowledge, so take the current selections not as a final decision. I've seemingly skimped on storage as I already have a fairly new 1TB Samsung 870 EVO, as well as an older 240GB Kingston A400 and a 1TB Western Digital HDD for low-priority storage.
