---------------
REVIEW AFTER 1+ month of use

First let`s start from building and delivery speed.
PC was build and dispached really fast:
Processed Date 20-07-2018
Build Date 23-07-2018
Test Date 23-07-2018
Awaiting Dispatch Date 24-07-2018
Dispatch Date 24-07-2018

But.... delivery was really bad. Guys if you want to deliver to Spain - don`t use DPD/SEUR services - they really bad here. First, they don`t get full address even if it was filled in correctly, just their system does not let use more than some ammount of charracters on their papers, so delivery guy does not know exact address. And in my case, even I was at home, they did not deliver on time (after 7+ days from dispaching). I needed to contact them and ask to deliver to near depot, so I can collect it my self, as they cannot "recognize" right address i put in their sistem.

Ok, now about Laptop it self
Looks nice, feels solid (compared to my old Lenovo Y50-70). All leds and etc make this laptop look really geeky and I like this.

BAD things.
  1. Boot time takes.... forever... and PC Specialist logo appears on boot. Maybe this is one of the reasons? I don`t know and had no time to figure out how to remove it. But my old PC boots 3x faster than this one, even here I use m2 drive for Windows.
  2. Could not find the way how to get into bios of this laptop. First time ever in my 20 years working with computers. GUYS WTF???? Where are the instructions? Why it does not work as on usual PC`s/Laptops with DELETE button on boot?
  3. Temperature of laptop is too high, even working usualy GPU is at 50°, CPU at 60°. If I start using video editing and encoding or games.... CPU gets to 96°!!!!! Fans starts to work soooooooooooo loud...... It`s impossible to work video audio recordings if this laptop works in room.

Overall I like this laptop, but need to solve problems above. Even considering to buy another one for mobile video editor, but will pass while I get any response from PC specialists on the issues.

To enter the BIOS rapidly press F2 on startup.

If this doesn't work, press and hold F2 on start-up. I hope this helps!

You might be able to find an option in the BIOS to enable Fast Boot which skips a lot of the hardware validation. Personally I almost never reboot my laptop so I left it disabled.

The PCS logo seamlessly carries over to the Windows's bootup phase (which I assume what you're using), it is possible that most of the time is spent waiting for the BIOS instead of Windows. In my experience with a SSD it tends to take ~10 seconds from boot to login screen either with Windows or Linux.

I don't think the key to boot to BIOS is standardised but it should be F2 for yours. The advent of UEFI has brought with it pretty boot screens that will actively hide this kind of information.

The idle temperature does seem a bit hot. My laptop (Octane V) has a i7 8700k with a TDP of ~95W and it idles at ~40-45C at 20C room temperature. In most normal use it would not exceed 70C and with heavy gaming it would not exceed 85C.

Your laptop seems to be based on Clevo PA71HP6. I have not found many reviews on it but the temperature looks pretty respectable: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/pa71hp6-g.806028/page-5 . It's worth asking PCS what kind of temperature ranges they'd seen on this laptop model.

It's equally poor here in Greece too, but that's not really PCSs fault. :)

The PC Specialist logo just replaces the default one from the chassis manufacturer, it's not responsible for your slow boot.

Where is most of the boot delay? Since you're talking about the PCS logo I guess it's in BIOS time and not Windows time?

Enter the BIOS setup and check the POST settings (if you can). It may be that you're doing a maximal POST and a shorter POST would be a lot quicker.

F2 as mentioned, has been pretty standard for BIOS setup access for decades.

That might be a concern. What are the temps when it's completely idle?

Regarding the fans, try going into Power Options and changing the cooling policy from active to passive. Active runs the fans when it gets hot, passive throttles the CPU when it gets hot.

Clevo PA71HP6
I think it's not a clevo chassis. It's not listed on the PCS clevo laptops page. I seem to recall someone saying it was compal, can't recall the model

The temps do seem high. PCS have apparently got a new BIOS though from the makers that apparently helps a bit.

will pass while I get any response from PC specialists on the issues.
Just to check, have you contacted PCS directly? The forums aren't an official support channel, so they probably won't reply to this post. Better to phone or email them.
