2nd Hard Disk in VortexII 15

Hi guys,

I recently bought a VortexII 15 and I am extremely impressed with it so far!

I just have one question regarding hard disks in this particular laptop. When I bought it, I did not get a 2nd hard disk bundled in, only a 320GB 7200rpm HDD. Does this mean there will be an empty slot to allow for a 2nd drive to be installed? The reason I ask is that I have a Crucial M4 on the way and would very much like to use it as my OS drive. If this is the case, is it simply a case of unscrewing a couple of screws and putting the drive in or will it be a more thorough tear down?

pretty sure this laptop can only support
a)1 hard drive and 1 DVD/Blu-ray drive;
b)2 hard drives and no DVD/Blu-ray drives.

Thats correct it only has 2 slots in which your optical drive and HDD must fit, or you could have 2 HDD's. The Vortex 17.3" has a slot for 2 HDD's and the optical drive.

Is it possible to change between optical drive and HDD at will or will the shape of the chassis mean its not viable?

Easily swapped, just need to order a Plastic Tray that holds the Hard Disk and slots into where the CD Drive goes.

Yes - give us a call to order one of these, they're £15.

Yes yo can swap them but they are not hot swappable so you will need to power off and swap them and then power on.
