New PC should be OC'd to 4.4Ghz but when Prime95 is running the highest I've seen it go is 3.4Ghz

Must have forgot to overclock it i suppose , call PCS they will guide you through the overclock process , presume its an ASUS board , with this just set it to performance mode in the bios & it will overclock it automatically & safely. you did select an appropriate cooler ? if not then this could be the reason for no overclock

It shouldn't be a cooler issue as the overclocked configurator only lets you select an appropriate cooler.

It's something that can happen though as when the PC is unplugged for an extended period the CMOS battery on the board can sometimes reset, and this is what saves the BIOS settings causing it to lose them and revert back to defaults.

If you check the BIOS there might be a profile saved with the overclocked settings stored (but this is unlikely if it has reset) so you can also login to your user account and your overclock settings should be listed under the processor information for your PC.

As suggested above if you're unsure and don't want to attempt this yourself give PCS a call and they will guide you through the process over the phone, it won't take too long. :)

I think you've done well to actually GET your PC in such a short timeframe :) Unless when you started the previous thread (https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?29005-Cosmos-SE-build-intended-spec&p=239365#post239365) it was already in building/Testing of course :)

However, I'd agree with baron and tom, for some reason the OC does not seem to have been applied, I'd give PCS a call on Monday to sort it out and they will be able to send you the OC instructions for your rig.

Did you go for the h100i cooler in the end?

Hi, yes l'm well impressed with build time. Yes H100i fitted and WD black 1 TB. I dropped my case off and collected it but 5 day build was brilliant.

I can see some OC settings in the BIOS but I'll phone them tomorrow rather than just clicking setting I'm not too sure about.
