2. 2: Is the stock cooler okay? No overclocks planned

I'd recommend an AC type card, not the N type selected above. AC is a newer format, so if you have an AC router too, you'll get better wifi, but it is also backwards compatible, so it will work with an N type router too.

I would support this advice too, just don't expect advertised 802.11ac speeds if your router is only 802.11n.

FWIW. There seem to be more problems reported on the web with Intel WiFi cards than with most other makes. You make of that what you will.

Yeah, I’d highly recommend the gigabyte or ASUS Wi-Fi cards over intel ones. The intel chipsets are pretty crappy.
