A little help with a gaming pc.

Hey loves, so I am looking on some advice on getting a gaming pc.

I have no idea on budget at the moment as it will take some smoozing to the other half and I haven't broached the subject just yet :whistling:

A lot of the games I want to play are in EA (ark, 7d2d etc) and so not fully optimized which means I am getting about 10fps on them. Current PC is a lenovo h50-50

I, ideally, would like a pc that isn't defunct within a year but also isn't going to send my bank into a deep dark abyss.

From what little I do know and understand I would prefer to stay with nvidia and intel if at all possible.

Any help majorly appreciated

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can also get an i7-6700k,980ti,16 gigs of ram and maybe a pci-e ssd as boot drive for the top end in terms of gaming.

As i said, budget and things you would want to do apart from gaming (video editing, rendering, etc.) are welcome.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply, thats the computer of my dreams right there XD

Interested in the specs of something decent I could get for about £700. Only other things it will be used for is browsing the net and youtube. No video editing/rendering etc

EDIT: Not sure if this makes any difference but it will be hooked up to my 50inch tele also wireless enabled would be ideal

Just want to bump this up for a little bit more help. I have cleared a budget of £1k with the OH. I was set to buy the above build suggested by gunsch however when I click the link it informs me some items are no longer available and have been replaced in the build by standard stuff. As I am not sure what is appropriate to replace the missing items with I would appreciate some help please

I've actually just gone through my original quoted specs and the only thing that has seemingly changed is the USB ports.

From
USB Options
1 PORT (1 x TYPE C) USB 3.1 PCI-E CARD + STANDARD USB PORTS

To:
USB Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

Does this make much of a difference?

Only if you want those USB connections. And if you did you could either add a card on your own or change the mother board to something that has them anyway :)

But it will still have 6 usb slots even with the change if I am reading correctly?

Sorry I have no idea whats PCI-e is, what it does and whether its needed or not

My bad, I realised that might be unclear after I posted it. So by default a Z170 mobo (the kind you've got) will have a certain number of USB ports round the back of the PC, plus any that that case has at the front. So in the PC Specialist configurator if you leave USB options as default, you get assured of having something like 2 x USB 2 and 2x USB 3 round the back, plus 2 USB ports at the front.

The PCI-E Card is an add-in card (like a graphics card or a network card) that gets slotted into the motherboard and adds extra outputs at the back. In this case, it adds USB 3.1 (which is faster, and quite new). It's not necessary, but it could be useful in the future when more stuff uses USB 3.1.

What I was trying to say is that if you want USB 3.1 / Type C, etc etc (in addition to all the 'normal' USB 2 and 3 ports you get regardless), and the PCI-E Card that adds those connections isn't available in the configurator, you can pick a more expensive motherboard that will have those connections built-in, or just buy a PCI-E card on your own and install it yourself :)

Ok great! Thanks for your help. I will just keep the original specs with the default USB ports. Also means I can get a slightly better processor and keep it within budget :D
