Morning everyone,

I'm currently using the TP-Link TL-WN851ND in my desktop, today im looking to upgrade to windows 8.1.

Does anyone know if this card works ok with windows 8 regarding drivers as on the TP-Link site it doesnt fall under their list of compatible products.

Or alternatively if anyone is already using windows 8 with this card then that would answer the question perfectly

Thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Shame really as by the looks of things the unofficial third party driver doesn't work either from atheros i think the website is called.

I think I should have picked the pci express model as that has a driver for windows 8 so looks like i need a new card.

On that subject do pc specialist send out individual components on request. Or would i be better off buying an alternative card from another manufacturer other than TP - Link

I'm pretty sure they will sell you a card, as long as it's for a PCS-built computer of course. :)

Thanks again for the reply. After a bit of research I remember now why I went for the PCI over PCIe card (lightbulb moment :) ) .

It's down to the gtx 670 overhanging and therefore stopping you from putting an extra card in below it in the pcie slot on my motherboard.

So im taking a different route and buying some homeplugs the devolo plugs look best with the pass through on the unit so as not to degrade the signal over the house wiring.

thanks for the input again.
