I know that an SSD is the best way to go when it comes to transfer speed and boot times etc, but what kind of difference would I see between a 5400 and 7200rpm drive, in terms of loading times for games and boot times. Is it worth upgrading now to 7200rpm or getting a 5400rpm drive then installing an SSD when I have the money?

Decided just to cut to the chase. Should I buy the Skyfire II now, or wait for the Optimus III. I know it's the Optimus II below, but PCS said it should be a similar price when it arrives, so that's the kind of build I'd be getting. Seeing as the Skyfire is kind of pushing my budget, should I wait and get a build with more RAM and a better HDD, or buy the Skyfire knowing I can add an SSD later as well as upgrading the RAM. Help much appreciated.

depends what your going to be using the laptop for, obviously the skyfire GPU is better for gaming. -

ive read that the Hybrid drives are good for start up times, however in real life situations the Scorpio black (7200) is actually faster. - as the Hybrid is only faster with programmes you use on a regular basis

im in the same place. i think im going to wait for the Optimus 3 speccs to appear, then base my decisions on that.

the GT 650m DDR5 in the optimus 3 is pretty good too.
