I was told that the order out for delivery in the morning. I watching the website of yodel to check the status of my delivery. And the status show Unable to gain timely access in 12:53pm, but i m sure i was at home at that time. What is going on? Does anyone have this experience?

Yodel are a complete sham company. If you google Yodel + late delivery you'll find an astonishing number of people who are dissatisfied with their service. I myself have experienced this, I took the day off from work and waited in all day for the delivery (which all day on the website said it will be delivered between 7am and 7pm), then at 7pm it suddenly changed to "tried to deliver but couldn't, card left". I'd wasted a whole day's holiday just to have some delivery driver lie about it.

I'm very surprised a great company like PCSpecialist are using them.

You must be new here, oh yes, you are.

If you actually took time to read other threads, you would see not only many many examples of Yodel being fine, but even some have the audacity to PRAISE them for a good job.

In top of that, i'll be Gorman's left nut that Yodel isn't the first delivery company to featured on Watchdog, and won't be the last. That is to say they have issues, but hardly accounts for their entire business.

And then to top all that off, if you had taken the time, you would see that PCS have used many (4?) companies thus far, all of which have had problems, and cannot change providers each time someone has a problem with Yodel, or indeed whomever they transfer the delivery to in some cases.

All that said, I hope you can resolve your issue droglo. If you still havent heard anything, give PCS or indeed Yodel a call and see what's what (always always always the best way of finding information that :D )

Sorry I didn't mean to offend you as I obviously have. I do think the tone of your post is a bit strong. I was browsing the forums for an answer to my question when I stumbled across this and thought I would share the view that I and many of my friends have.

I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, Mr 1728 posts. I hope they weren't all shouting at people for giving an opinion or help. I for one won't be posting here again. But you can go back to your insular "Super Star" world.

Opinions and help are always welcomed.

I think it was just the fact that this subject about crap delivery companies turns up again about once a week and tends to get old really quick. And every delivery company has about 15 billion complaints if you google search it, and probably most have appeared on stuff like Watchdog as well :)

Hmm, I really wish I hadn't just started reading those online reviews of Yodel! I guess review sites like that will tend to be heavily biased though, as you're much more likely to complain than you are to compliment. That's what I reckon anyway. Fingers crossed they don't screw up my delivery though. There does seem to be a problem with them saying they've tried to deliver things but actually haven't even turned up. Perhaps as a poster above said, it's more the case that EVERY company does this, not just Yodel. Still a massive pain in the ass if you've taken the day off work though.

Bingo!!
You've hit the nail on the head here :)

This does indeed apply to every company, though it does only apply to a very small percentage of deliveries for every company.

I'd give PCS a call, and see if they can prod Yodel and find out what's going on.

Do they not have GPS in their vans? Did you give them a post code?!

just to add my experince (ongoing..)
-Yodels' delivery date was initially the 23rd September (having being picked up from PC Specialists on the 21st, which is fair enough)
I was at the property the entire day. No-one arrived (Other than Jehovahs Witnesses... which passed the time...)
Yodel said there was no-one to receive the parcel and they had left a card. There was no card left anywhere on the property.

- I contacted Yodel that evening, their agent said they would re-deliver it on Tuesday (the 27th). Which is fair enough, as I couldn't be home on Monday.

- They re-sent it on Monday (26th). There was no-one to receive it... hmmmm. Although my neighbour (same building) was in all day and saw no-one. They said they had left a card. No card was left.

- I contacted them this morning, (27th). They said that it would automatically be sent out again today because it was a next day delivery.
I contacted them this afternoon to check - they said it was not sent out at all and I would have to re-schedule a delivery. For when I can arrange a 3rd day at home, obviously.

My main problem is not with the time taken, but rather with having to arrange someone to be at the property the entire day on no less than 3 seperate occasions. Which is a bit tricky.
I still don't understand why they have recorded visiting the property twice when they simply haven't done that. Possibly could be trying to deliver to the wrong address, although I've checked they have the correct address..

I don't suggest at all that any company should change it's courier on the grounds of a few complaints, but I would encourage anyone with similiar difficulties to leave feedback with Yodel. Possibly it vanishes into a bottomless pit, but I doubt it. As long as the feedback is concise, detailed and not too offensive, hopefully they will try to improve the service they offer. Other people, I'm sure have positive experiences.

I'm still awaiting mine.... ho-hum.

They probably called at your house because they heard you were either an  or a :innocent:

Have some rep off me for stating your experience very well, without having to resort to a rant (although I'm sure you felt like one).

Hope you get your delivery soon.

PS At the moment you have twice as much rep points as posts! That doesn't happen very often :)

Is it not possible for you to pick up from their depot. This usually concentrates their minds!

If it is any consolation, I had a similar experience with Royal Mail last week with a small parcel, I went on Saturday to their depot to pick it up after two failed deliveries (only the first one produced a card) the guy in the office was mad, he said he remembered putting it out for redelivery. apologetic phone call Monday and the postie delivered it Tuesday. Be calm, you will get your system :D
