About to buy this, any good?

currently 1080p, looking to go up to 1440p. hoping this will be future proof for a few years.
looking to play same/most games on ultra with ray tracing.
my budget is £2100, any easy cost savings?
i havnt specced for any ssd's as i have two from my old rig to go into this one.

You don’t really need the ROG Strix board with that CPU. The 3080 will be wasted on 1080p or 1440p. It is worth considering an M.2 NVME drive, as they are so much faster than SATA SSDs. You don’t need the upgraded thermal paste with the cooler. Rather than add a black fan, it would be better to buy a LL120 fan separately and install it yourself as an extract fan at the rear.it will then match the three at the front. The RMx PSU is fully modular and is worth upgrading to.

This is a massively over specced rig for 1440p, do you know which exact monitor you'll be getting? Or the resolution AND refresh rate?

The 3080 is a 4K card mate, if you're thinking 1440p the 3060Ti is the way to go. It's massively specced for just 1440p

Biggest saving as mentioned above would be downgrading the GPU.
The 3060ti is the go-to for 1440p, with Ultra settings and RT in mind the 3070 will be a good fit. Cheaper than a 3080 and you will be waiting for a shorter time for your build.
You can drop the arctic paste as the H100i comes with pre-applied premium thermal paste.
Use the savings to upgrade the PSU to 850W RMx, a fully modular model that far outstrips the TXm.

Also worth mentioning if you go 3080 which is way over specced for your usage you add yourself to a much longer preorder queue then the 3060ti - 3070
