advent laptop, windows 7 - wont read any cd's in disk drive

Tried several cd's..

want to load a game from a cd, but disk drive goes through a lot of clicking, as if it is reading, but after about a minute, ejects the cd and asks for a cd to be loaded.

I think this forums is for PC specialists sold. But anyway, have yiubtried making a USB boot drive.

Google Microsoft windows USB tool.
Get an ISO of your windows 7 disc either online or rip from yours.
Get a 4gb USB flash drive.

Could be a faulty optical drive or the CD disk is damaged,do other CD'S/DVD's work okay,if so have you tried cleaning the CD.

i have a 4gb flashdrive, but dont understand how this will get my disk drive working. The forum said 'Laptop/Notebook PC' so assumed this was the right one.

Have tried cleaning disk drive, and tried several disks.
