She uses the PC for the following:

  • Playing games such as Candy Crush and Microsoft Solitaire.
  • Watching videos.
  • Surfing the internet with up to 20 tabs open
  • Mail program.

Despite her minimal needs she wants the computer to be lighting fast with Windows booting and programs opening. Cost isn't a huge issue but at the same time she does not want to waste money. She wouldn't want to spend $200 more for a processor if it meant a program starting half a second faster.

I was told for her needs that getting the i3 would actually be faster due to the higher clock speed. Is this true?

Was thinking about getting 16 GB or RAM. Would she notice a speed difference between 2666 vs 2933?

I am sold on the Intel SSD. She does not need the storage space but would the difference in the write speeds of the 512 and 2 TB speeds (3500 MB/S vs 3000 MB/S) make a big difference?

Does anyone know the joule rating for the surge protector offered by PC Specialist?
