I am looking to replace my last PC Specialist laptop, which has served me FLAWLESSLY since December 2012!!! - 11 years!!!
I cannot begin tell you how impressed I have been with the quality and longevity of this laptop!!!
This was a Vortex 17.3", Quad core i7-3740QM (2.7GHz) 6MB, with 32GB ram and Nvidia GeForce GTX670M
Because the previous laptop served me so well, I am really out of touch with specs
My budget is around £2.5k - so I knocked up the spec below using my limited knowledge...
What I am looking for is:

What I am looking for is:
- A tasty processor and lots of RAM for music production and video editing (I wasn't sure on the pros/cons of the different RAM options??)
- I want 2 large internal drives - it didn't say the ones I chose were SSD? - do I need an SSD for the first drive for quick bootup etc? -the numbers looked better for the ones I chose - is the first one overkill?? (I like to keep applications installed on one and the working files on the other)
- I am COMPLETELY confused about graphics cards, so went for the middle option! - I do not envisage any gaming - but may want the option for some flight sims, Battlefield, COD action. How important is graphics card for video/photo editing? (likely to be using Adobe Premier Pro and/or Core VideoStudio). I have a GoPro MAX 360 - and my current laptop can't cope with the 360 files, so would want a new beast that can handle this
- I will be looking at monitors at a later date - I quite fancy an ultrawide if that makes any difference
- I want the computer to be as quiet as possible - so have selected the liquid cooling option. Does this mean the external gubbins sits on my main desk - but I would still have the option to unplug the laptop and take it somewhere else without having to take the external liquid cooler with me?? (this is all completely new to me!)
- Finally - I have opted for a laptop as I may want to work in different rooms within my house (and potentially take it to a studio) - HOWEVER - I am aware that I would get more "bang for buck" from a desktop - so, I would be interested to know what the below spec would cost for a desktop - AND - how much better a spec I would get (and what this would mean in the real world) if I spent £2.5k on a desktop (which I would want to be as quiet as possible)
