Advice on Build for gaming PC

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to get a new PC for gaming as my current PC is old I want to start playing some of the games i currently play on console on PC.

The main games i play are Warzone/Cod,fortnite,GTA, Elden Ring and Csgo

My budget is from £1900 to £2000(not including monitor) I’m ideally looking for some longevity so I won’t have to upgrade too soon.

In terms of monitor I’m open to some suggestions with a price of upto £500.

Some advice on builds would be much appreciated.

Lots of options here: you have a very healthy budget and can get a very strong system.

Let's start with the monitor. You're looking at either WQHD (1440p) or UWQHD (ultrawide 1440p). I'd suggest the MSI MAG274QRF-QD for around £400, the Cooler Master GP27Q for around £430 (both WQHD), or the Gigabyte M34WQ for about £400 (ultrawide). These are all really strong options. The MSI has excellent performance in response times; the Cooler Master supports proper HDR: choose whichever you prefer!

Then for a PC I'd be looking at this:

Case
FRACTAL NORTH TG GAMING CASE (BLACK) A very nice case: if you don't like the wood aesthetics or want something cheaper/RGB, many options are available
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5) The best gaming CPU
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card
16GB AMD RADEON™ RX 7800 XT GAMING - HDMI, DP - DX® 12 A very good graphics card in this budget range
1st M.2 SSD Drive

512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW) Boot SSD
1st M.2 SSD Drive

2TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 3325MB/sW) Games SSD
Power Supply

CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET More power supply capacity than you strictly speaking need, but good to go for overkill in PSU terms
Power Cable

1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX XT RGB High Performance CPU Cooler More cooling than you need, but a very good cooler

What monitor/resoltion/frequency are you hoping to play at? Do you need lots of storage, or just enough for games (e.g. no storage required for an extensive library of video)?

Here's a sticky thread to have a read through which may answer or pose questions for you...
1440p with good refresh rate etc for FPS games and in terms of storage it’s just for games really.

Looks good would this allow me to get a good frame rate on most FPS games I play? Like Warzone, I know it will be fine on CSGO as I can run that fine even on my current PC.

Oh, you'll be fine. Look up "Warzone 1440p 7800xt 7800x3d" and you'll see the kind of performance you can get. Well over 120 FPS on very high settings.
