Advice on Gaming PC

Hello all,

Looking for some advice on putting a new PC together as my current one is 4+ years old. I have a budget of around 2000 pounds and the PC will be used for general gaming.

The monitor I am looking to use is the Acer Predator XB321HK 32 inch 4K2K IPS. I'm not looking to overclock anything so not sure if the motherboard is overkill. I have a spare 2 GB hard drive also.

I put a spec together so any advice on that or any recommendations on something of that budget is much appreciated. Quick note I may change the case for the Corsair Crystal series 460X.

A 2tb standard HDD + 1 x M2 SSD would be better and faster. 32gb ram is overkill and unnecessary for gaming, 16gb ram will do. It seems like a waste to order the i7-7700k and not go for a pre-overclocked system done by PCS.

I'd probably suggest a better cooler such as either the Noctua air cooler, which is excellent. The only water cooler that's substantially more effective is the H100iV2 which doesn't fit.

If you're very keen to have an AIO water cooler for aesthetic reasons then the H80i offers comparable performance to the Noctua.

You could also go for a cheaper motherboard. The Z270E is already very expensive, has a very full feature set, and is a capable overclocking mobo, but is ~£40 cheaper than the Hero. Some of the features the Hero has relate to LN2 cooling support, for example. If you don't need specific features it offers over the Z270E you could stick to that.

If you go for the 460X case I'd suggest adding an extra fan as by default it doesn't have a rear extractor.
