Advice on my 3rd PCS purchase...Which laptop??

Hi all can you please advise me on the following 2 laptops, as my son wants a decent laptop for around £1000 ish, for moderate gaming(runescape,diablo,retro games) and general purpose usage

Initially he thought of the viper, but he also likes the look and screen size of the Optimus.....

are there any known issues of either laptop ie thermals?? and how do you rate the spec?

Essentially going for the GTX 1060 over the i7 CPU, which nets a much more powerful gaming spec. He can always use it with an external monitor in the future through the HDMI port.

Thx for your reply. Why the Viper over the Optimus?? are there thermal issues with the Optimus, or any other reported issues? It seems to me that both laptops have the same spec but you pay £100 ish more for the larger screen? other than the vipers keyboard? there's also a £200 ish difference in gfx cards though both lappys have hdmi out? and £29 difference on the CPU

If you look at the spec I posted it has a GTX 1060 for less than the Optimus you posted with a GTX 1050 ti. That's why the Vyper.

The price of going from an i5 ot an i7 varies depending on the configuration of the laptop. For the spec I posted the i7 is about £100 more, but like I say isn't really worth buying

Well my sons decided on your recommendation of the i5 and the gtx1060, Rather than the screen size and possible thermal issues.....the lappy should be here in a couple of weeks Ill keep you posted

Sounds good. Vyper certainly doesn't have thermal issues, at least going by forum feedback and the review of the chassis on Vortez.
