Advice on spec for gaming and media please

This will be my third PC Specialist machine although I was shocked to see my current one was bought in 2011, it has received a few upgrades since however.

I will be working on the machine by day and then gaming whenever I have the chance really. Work is media based, so photography and some basic video editing - Adobe Creative Cloud etc. I will be using my current GTX 1070 with this new build initially along with my Asus XG35V.

I'd like some advice on the general spec and whether there are any advisable upgrades or tweaks needed to make the most of things. The case itself I'm not sure about too, just kind of liked the look of the one below. Budget will be £1500 - £1750 if it's worth spending a little extra. Cheers.

We love you Ukraine
I take it you will be upgrading the GPU at some point? Am amazed the 1070 has the power to run an Ultrawide..then again, I don't know that GPU very well.

Case: That is a very good case
Cooler: You really want the H100i RGB Platinum at least to keep the chip cool and running at peak efficiency
Wi-Fi: The Intel Ax200 for £190 more is a much better choice
Warranty: Silver is good for only £5 more
PSU: I would consider upgrading that to the RMx as they are much better PSUs

Rest of the build is good for an editing machine
1070 is roughly the equivalent of the 2060.

Thanks for your help, I did have a little heart attack when you recommended a £190 WiFi upgrade, thankfully it was just a typo! :)

Is there little benefit of upgrading to the XT chip at this point?

I have made the other changes and pasted below.

Yeah, the plan is to upgrade the graphics at some point but as it stands, the 1070 handles things surprisingly well. I'm generally playing older games anyway and many can be played at the monitor's maximum 100hz.

I don't know if the XT is worth it with the 3900 to be honest. I would probably stick with the X personally. The 3800XT is definitely worthwhile over the X, that's a level down though.

It may actually be worth considering dropping down to the 3800XT. It isn't THAT much of a saving but the frequency is good enough and I doubt you would get that much use out of the extra cores. It'll help with video editing but if it's minimal then I doubt you would notice. It's also worth considering the RAM. If your video usage is minimal, 16GB would likely have you covered and then you could go for 3600Mhz RAM.

With the storage I would have to go for the firecuda. The speed is crazy.

Too late, I already pulled the trigger and made the order.

.. added a 2070 Super in there though for good measure.

Thanks for all the help, can't wait to get it now.

You are free to make changes as you wish until the order is being built. If you go into your account you can chop and change various options :)

Ok, slight amendment with the Firecuda, the speed difference is quite a lot.

I think I'm happy with the CPU and RAM at the moment though.
