Advice on this spec for my purpose

Hi
I would appreciate your advice on the spec below for use when running concurrently; MS Word (2 docs open), InDesign for one file, Corel Draw/Adobe Illustrator for two files open, PhotoShop CC 2020 with 4 files open, Chrome web browser open, and MS Outlook open.
I need to retain the graphics card as I occasionally run Adobe Premier CC 2020 and this is the lowest spec that is recommended that is available with the OPtimus V2.
I have assumed I would benefit from maximum memory (32gbyte) and that the 156gb Intel Optane Memory will also help?
Thank you for giving your time to check this any advice to cut down or enhance this spec will be much appreciated.
John

Very slight variation on the, very correct, suggestions above.

Faster RAM
Comment on Better GPU (With a laptop always go with the best you can reasonably afford as you can't change it and it will massively add to the longevity going forward)

Slightly different angle on the storage:

1TB of ridiculously fast storage for OS, programs and any working documents you currently have (all the items you mentioned and then some)
1TB of cheap conventional storage to drop in the files etc once completed.

This was more along the lines of increasing performance while actually saving money. If a 2TB M2 drive was within budget then by all means just go for that. It's just a shame to stick with conventional SSD performance now that we have the blistering pace of M2.

It's weird when that happens but always makes sense to check. The 3200Mhz RAM was cheaper than 3000Mhz a while back.

Hi, thank you Scott. Can I quiz you on your storage suggestions. Would these options (see end of text), in your opinion, achieve fast processing and good storage for my needs? I will be reviewing my actual current storage usage as in the future it is unlikely to increase, as each task is archived to an external drive on completion. I am wondering about reducing the M2 drive to 500Gbyte but I do not know what impact that would have on saving large files which would be held on the Seagate drive.
1st Storage Drive
1TB SEAGATE 7mm SERIAL ATA III 2.5" HARD DRIVE WITH 128MB CACHE (7:200rpm)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB Intel® H10 NVMe SSD + 32GB Intel® Optane™ (upto 2400MB/SR | 1800MB/SW)
Thanks again for your advice. John

The Intel with the Optane isn't a good selection IMO.

The "Slow" storage will be capable of 100Mb/s during a normal transfer.
The Fast storage will be capable of around 2000Mb/s in the same circumstances.

It only makes sense to use the fast storage for things you want to run quickly. OS, programs and working documents are the obvious highlights.

For files that you are finished with, or for music or movies, etc it makes sense to keep them on the cheaper "slow" storage. That's not to say it's slow, it's not..... it's just by comparison.

Hi Guys, well have settled my laptop time to think about my desktop. What I would like to do is upgrade my existing desktop as it has had a raft of items replaced including the powerpack and two DVD read/write drives and extended USB 3's. The case suits me as it will support my four hard drives.
But the motherboard and graphics need upgrading so I will need new memory. So, if you are willing to help, can you tell me what if anything is missing from the following list:
Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor i7-9700F (3.0GHz) 12MB Cache
Motherboard: ASUS® TUF B360M-PLUS GAMING: Micro-ATX, LGA1151, USB 3.1r SATA 6GBs - RGB Ready
Memory (RAM): 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card: 6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 - HDMI, DP - VR Ready
!
This assumes that the motherboard will fit my case - I will have to wait until the current pandemic is over before my technical support comeback on line to check this.
Unfortunately I cannot buy from PCSPECIALISTS as they do not do parts only whole PCs.
If I should have posted this under a separate request for help please forgive me and I will post it separately.
Best regards
John

What's wrong with the motherboard?
