Hi

Just after some advice regarding a potential future build I'm looking at buying, I've come up with the below based on my budget which ideally would be around £2000, obviously I have went over by a few hundred which I can probably work with.

The rig will be used mainly for gaming, a lot of competitive shooters but also newer AAA titles such as Cyberpunk etc. As you can see I've went for a 1080p 240hz monitor to begin with, however I will be adding a 1440p 144hz monitor at some point. I will also use the machine for office work etc, however nothing like streaming and such.

Ideally I want the case to be as quiet as possible and as cool as possible, I'm not fussed on pretty lights etc. Not sure if I would be better off with a better CPU and dropping to 2070 super?

So until you add a higher resolution monitor a lot of the power of the 2080 super is potentially being wasted, but if its your intention to do so reasonably soon (within say half a year or so) then in my opinion its not a bad shout.

I'd always opt for a smaller capacity main drive (for windows) and a second higher capacity storage drive such that if you need to reinstall windows for whatever reason you can do so without fearing any lost data.

Thanks for the reply man.

Yeah I'll be adding a bigger monitor within 6 months without a doubt.

I'll look at dropping the SSD to 500gb and increasing the capacity of the HDD.

In terms of CPU, will this be okay for high end gaming? Also I'm unsure if the cooler is overkill?

I’d go with the 3700x personally, adds a few more FPS.
