Hello, I am looking for a laptop and am looking to spend around £1200, it will be used mostly for gaming and the occasional work stuff could someone help with a build please

What do you mean by "work stuff", you need to list the programs you're using, work stuff could mean anything at all What kinds of games also?

So laptops are far more expensive than desktops, and laptop GPU's are a few tiers down from a desktop GPU so a desktop 4060 would be roughly a laptop 4080

PCS have also run out of stocks of most budget options, your only options would be the 1650 or the 3050, both of which are poor.

Your budget is extremely restrictive for a custom laptop to get anything worthwhile to be honest, basically you'd never get anywhere near max settings, you'd have to reduce to medium probably, and that's now, within a couple of years you'd have to get a replacement.

I would suggest getting a branded laptop as they'll be far cheaper for equivalent specs.
