I'm quite anti AMD so wouldn't choose them over nvidia mainly because of their poor drivers, but I guess it certainly beats the 970, if it's not too much more then probably worth it.
Oh right lol. Well it's just personal preference I guess. Both are great cards but the 390 seems to have good potential as it will gradually get the drivers and become more optimised with the new releases towards the end of the year. It's slightly better than the 970 at the moment and with time, the gap will widen I think. :)

i5 4690k or i7 4790k?

I'm just stuck on which processor to get. I know the i5 is better value for money but what would I be missing out on if I didn't get an i7? I want to be able to multitask without any trouble and I would appreciate the quickest and smoothest experience. For example if I had 10 tabs open on google chrome, skype open, my favourite game e.g. GTA V which I was live streaming on Twitch, would the i5 be sufficient, or would the i7 make this experience much better?
Also is 8GB of RAM enough, and what cooler and gpu would you recommend me?
I think you get the idea, thanks :)

If it is for the same build it would be better to stick to one thread for any related query. I haven't done live streaming but I would assume an i7 will work and if you wish to overclock at least the h80i

I've currently got the H60 in mind, is that good or shall I get the h80i? I'm just curious how much better the i7 is from the i5 you see.

Best thing to do is to check benchmarks online, for gaming not noticeable difference same win the overclocked CPU. I wouldn't skimp on the CPU cooler if you want an overclocked CPU, h80i as a minimum IMO

Ah right thanks for the heads up, and Keynes would you rather have a GTX 970 or AMD R9 390 at this moment in time, as I'm torn between the two...

**Final checks before ordering** Gaming PC for £1,250

I have put together what I think is a well balanced PC which I will be using for everyday web surfing, multitasking, office applications for work, and 1080p gaming at 60FPS+ maxed on the majority of games. I'm still unsure about a couple of things which I may look over tonight but this is near enough what I will be getting. I don't know a lot about motherboards so went with the budget friendly option but would the Z97-E be a better choice? Also I'm not 100% on the case as I also like the NZXT 410 and the 240. The toughest part has easily been the GPU as I'm tied between the GTX 970 and the R9 390, I could go with either of these.

Any useful reassurances and feedback would be much appreciated. Please point out anything I've done wrong, or possible improvements! :)

you should stick to one thread otherwise others will end up saying the same things. I already pointed out in one of your threads that you won't gain anything in terms of gaming performance with an i7 or overclocking the cpu (at least for the majority of games). Case looks overkill for a single gpu set up.

Sam1875 if you could stick to one thread it makes it easier for people to see what has been changed, what has been suggested and means people don't end up asking/answering the same things multiple times

I'm aware the i7 doesn't do much for gaming, but it is mainly for my overall desktop experience (Surfing, email, office apps, intensive multitasking without any lag and potential for live stream/video editing in the future), if this can be achieved on an i5 just as well as an i7, please let me know. Interesting that you say the case is overkill, I like it mainly due to its aesthetics (large window and professional design), although it does seem a little big which is why I'm open to the other cases I mentioned.

Sorry about that, I wasn't sure how to merge, thanks :)
