AMD build

Hey everyone!

After some advice really for an AMD build strictly for gaming at 1440p. Looking to spend around £2000, but have wiggle room to go over, want this to last me the next few years and have room to upgrade parts if necessary. I usually go with Intel but after looking through these forums it seems AMD is the way to go at the moment? Appreciate any suggested builds and recommendations:)

Heya! We've been tending to go AMD recently although with the release of 12th gen Intel, they are back at the top of the charts for now. They are a bit more expensive than Ryzen 5000 but it can happily still be done in your budget. If you'd prefer an intel 12th gen build, I would be happy to advise on that. Will the spec include anything else or are you just looking for the tower?

Something like this would be a fine choice for AMD gaming at 1440p. Whilst Intel are leading performance by a small margin (until the AMD refresh), they’re still gobbling more power and still a company run by morons, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised by switching allegiances 👍

Thanks for the response, awesome build! What's the difference between the 3060 ti and 3070ti?

POWER!

A 3070 would currently max out most 1440p 27 inch screens. I use one with a an ultrawide 1440p screen and get well over 100FPS on 95% of games.

What screen would you be using?

currently got a red eagle g-master gb2760qsu, but wanting to upgrade that at some point too:)
Perfectly decent monitor, 3060Ti would suit it nicely.

If you want to join the ultrawide club within the next six months or so, 3070 or 3070Ti would be decent to factor in now. All depends on your finances, amigo. I don’t want to spend money you don’t have 😜

Nice 👍

Depending on what games you’re into or if you’re into content creation / streaming / editing, a bit more RAM could potentially be beneficial. What sort of stuff are you into?

last question:) will i be able to upgrade these parts easily without having to replace large parts say for a new GPU or CPU? cheers

The CPU should last the lifetime of the system, at least 7 years as an estimate.

But if you want to keep things cutting edge, you’d likely want to update the GPU every 2-3 years. It will last longer if you make compromises on graphical settings. Depends how much you like the visual bling on AAA games.
