AMD confirms HD7000 price cut
Ever since Nvidia introduced the GTX 680 we have been hearing rumours of an imminent AMD price cut and now it’s official.

AMD has cut the MSRP for the HD 7970 to $479, while the HD 7950 now comes in at $399. It will take some time for the new prices to filter down to retailers, but we are already seeing some cuts in Europe. The cheapest HD 7970 now sells for €404 and you can pick up an HD 7950 for €350+.

AMD also shaved off a few bucks from the HD7770, which is now priced at $139, but sadly the cuts did not extend to 7800-series cards.

In addition to new prices, AMD is also bundling three games with the cards: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dirt: Showdown and Nexuiz, whatever that is.

EVGA officially launches GTX 680 SuperClocked With or without backplate

Although it was pictured and detailed during the GTX 680 launch event, EVGA has now officially announced the latest members of its GTX 680 lineup, the EVGA GTX 680 SuperClocked Signature and GTX 680 SC Signature+ graphics cards. Both cards will feature factory overclocked settings and non-reference PCB.

As noted, both of the newely announced cards will be based on non-reference PCB with 5-phase VRM design and 8+6-pin PCI-Express power connector configuration. Both cards ended up with the same 1084MHz base and 1150MHz boost clock as well as 6208MHz 2GB GDDR5 memory clock. The reference ones are working at 1006MHz base, 1058MHz boost and 6008MHz for memory.

Both cards will use the same blower-style cooler that actually looks quite classy, without any bright colors and gimmicks. The EVGA GTX 680 SC will be available in Signature and Signature+ versions. The only difference is the use of a backplate on the Signature+ version and a US $20 higher price tag.

The EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature is listed at EVGA's web shop with a US $529.99 price, while the GTX 680 SC Signature+ goes for US $549.99. Unfortunately, both are still just listed with unknown availability date.
