Amount of Stock

Just a suggestion for the website ( I dunno if it has been made or not before.)

When ordering, it would be awesome to have an idea of if anything is in stock, low in stock or out of stock. So some sort of meter a bit like some of the other PC company websites to just show this so customers have a piece of mind you have the parts when ordering? I know i wouldnt have had such a wait or spent time amending orders if this was the case! Bear in mind this is just a suggestion, dont want me head bitten off for saying it or comparing it to other companys....eeep!

good idea, although would need updating regularly and the guys cant afford to spend updating things like this as it will just delay PC building even more

It could be linked to a spreadsheet stored in the server? (I remember doing this via XAMPP once but that was basic)

yes but that depends whether PCS take notes of their stock, they may just check what is low and what is empty and send emails when its empty, although that seems like more work

lol the amazon guys probably walk around with some sort of touchpad thing where they can change stock counts easily, PCS probably arent able to spend a few £k on a few of those and isnt really worth it for a small business

Amazon is actually so big the stock collections in the depots are mostly done mechanically so they always can keep tabs on items. But yes it would be uneconomical for such a small company (in comparison, oc).

can't agree more... it's very frustrating to not know for sure when the stuff you ordered will be available and allow PCS to start building your computer...

but looking at the thread history, it seems like that feature is already there if you use fast track? http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?8492-Fast-Track-System

Aparently the website will tell you what component is available before you can order anything with the fast track option.

That's handy but generally it doesn't matter as items either get removed with an announcement or are put on PRE ORDER (6990/590)
