If the machine is just for gaming, you could easily get away with an i5-3550, having the i7 may future proof it a little more if you want, but it isn't really necessary.
And unless you are planning on overclocking (which won't benefit most games) you don't need a k-variant of the CPU, so even if you do want to stay with the i7 I'd go for the i7-3770 instead.

1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 32MB CACHE
I'd go for a Caviar Black drive instead, it will be a bit faster for booting and loading.

You would be fine with something like the Triple Copper Heatpipe unless you're overclocking

I presume you don't need wireless, in which case this is fine

You could chose the i5-3570 if it is solely for gaming. The motherboard you selected supports SLI (adding a 2nd graphics card to improve performance) but you would need at least a 750w PSU. If you do not consider adding a 2nd GTX 670 you could downgrade the motherboard to save some money.

Thanks for the advice guys, I made a load of amendments to my potential order last night (after reading reviews\opinions of some of the components and also realising my mistake with the PSU). It's almost identical to Rubensolo's selection.

Most of the games I play will end up making heavy use of the 670 but I'm also a Football Manager nut (you really don't want to know how much time I've spent on this in the past 15 years). As FM is processor intensive, I went for the best I could see.

Also, the reason why I haven't added Wi-Fi is because it's built into the Motherboard :D
