I have been looking towards the Acer Predator NX3 at 144Hz

What im wanting is 144Hz at 1440p if possible as im eventualky going to be running dual monitor ( in the future).

I have not yet bought the monitor so i am always open to recommendations. The Monitir is not in the pc Budget i will be buying that separately 4 weeks after i have the PC

Alright so i am starting to see thatmaybe AMD is the way to go? If anyone could help me out as again this is slighlty out if my budget of £2800.

RGB and the looks are quite important to me as im soending quite a lot of money i want it to look the part.

I opened a different thread just because this was AMD my bad sorry,

I actually thought that was 1440 thats why, the thing im worried about is streaming, i want the pc to be comfortable streaming and gaming. All the games i play are 99 percent servival games like je Dayz, Arma, Ark etc

If you have any suggestion for monitors i will definitely consider them. but i will be using dual monitors in the very near future

Some of this spec is a bit all over the place, you certainly don’t need that CPU for gaming and streaming and I reckon money could be better spent elsewhere. Here’s my alternative build...

(The GPU is in there as a placeholder, I’d wait for the new Nvidia cards to be released 👍)

The CPU you chose is for high end work, it’s not a gaming chip and I don’t want you wasting money. I’ve got the eight core 3800x in my gaming build and I fully expect it to last the life of the system. I’ll let @Nursemorph and @SpyderTracks be your guides on the monitor front, they both recommended one for me and I couldn’t be happier with it 😁👍

No worries, happy to help. You’ve got a very decent budget there so we want to get you the best spec possible for your uses.

It’s definitely worth having the two M.2 drives on there as per my spec, you can put your OS and programs on the smaller one and your games on the bigger one. That way if you have to do a clean install of Windows, you don’t have to download them all over again.

The Corsair cooler you chose has high quality thermal paste so you don’t need to pay for the extra one. I also raised the PSU to the 850w version as newer cards tend to be more power hungry. That’s future proofing you for upgrades as time goes on. Likewise with the change on the motherboard.

I also put you the improved WiFi card with Bluetooth on there as that’s only an extra tenner and the silver warranty which is an extra fiver. Both well worth having.

Not saying that my build is definitive, though. It’ll be worth seeing what thoughts the dynamic duo have to add when they swing by 👍

Okay, just so you know, you’ll need to spend around a thousand pounds on a monitor that’ll harness the power of the 3080, it’s a beast. You could very well save yourself some money by waiting for the 3070/3060Ti to come out if you haven’t got that kinda screen budget. We very much tend to spec with the monitor in mind so we know that either the system or the screen won’t be throttled. Have you got any idea what type of screen you’ll be after and/or the budget for that side of things?

Yeah thats fine, i have the budget for a monitor. Thats why i have limited my self to around £2400 for the build

Okie dokie! Well there’s a couple of bits I’d change. The case you chose isn’t the best for airflow so I’ve gone for one of the Corsair ones.

RAM works better as a single pair so that’s now at 2x16GB. If you really want the four stick effect you can actually buy dummy RBG RAM that will complete the look.

Storage I’ve fiddled with. There’s been some reliability issues with the Intel M.2 drives so I’ve switched that over to the PCS version. And the Ironwolf HDDs aren’t really worth the extra outlay so I altered that to two of the 2GB Barracudas. Here’s the spec...
