ASUS EZ mode overclocking

In the ASUS EZ mode there are options to enable a high performance mode and also somewhere else it will do an automatic overclock of the whole system, would you need a "k" chip for these features to work

No, im sure, as it can still be overclocked but not to big Ghz like 4.0+ or something similar like the "K". That auto overclock feature should stop where its stable or at a convenient Ghz lvl. if its not suitable, it should switch back or you can just switch it back to stock clocks.

Thats what I was wondering, whether the non "k" version can be overclocked at all with this m/b feature and if so what is the speed differences using the two different processors

i have read stories of the i5 2500 getting to over 4GHz, but the k variant can get over 5GHz apparently
