Awaken PC from Sleep

I received my new computer yesterday and all is well except for one thing. When the computer goes to sleep after 30 minutes I cannot wake it up by using the mouse or keyboard. I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds and essentially reboot. I've checked the power settings and the keyboard/mouse are allowed to take the PC out of sleep. The Corsair keyboard and Razer mouse lights are on so I know they're receiving power even in sleep?

Any ideas welcome?

The first thing to do is to turn off the Fast Startup feature in Windows. Enter the powercfg.cpl command into the Run command box, in the window that opens click "Choose what the power buttons do", then uncheck the "Turn on Fast Startup" checkbox.

Another thing to consider is that the monitor isn't receiving the "Wake" command from the GPU. This could be a red herring as if you need to hold the power to shutdown this wouldn't be the case, however if you could actually get away with pressing the power button twice without holding it for the shutdown... this could be the case.

Thank you getting back to me, I don't think the the monitor wake command is the issue. I use face ID for login so even if the monitor isn't on the camera lights come on so I'm pretty sure the system isn't running.

Done. Unfortunately hasn't changed anything. If I click Start - Power - Sleep the computer behaviour is exactly the same?

As an aside, why do you need to put the PC into sleep mode? I never do this now, as I have had many problems with this in the past. With an M.2 drive it will only require a few seconds to restart from being shutdown.

I know its not a big deal, but its about 30 seconds to boot from scratch and then you have to open the apps again. Either way it should just work, I wonder if there's a BIOS issue, maybe someone @pcspecialist_ could comment or am I best of raising a ticket?

PCS don’t monitor these forums, you’d need to contact them directly.

Right-click on the Start Button, or press Win + X, to open the Power User menu. Select Device Manager.
You'll see a list of categories for the devices connected to your PC. If you can't wake your PC from sleep with the keyboard, click the arrow next to Keyboards.
This list will show one or more entries for your PC keyboard. Double-click each one of them in turn, and select the Power Management tab at the top. If you don't see this tab for a particular entry, move onto the next one.
On each entry's Power Management tab, make sure that the Allow this device to wake the computer box is checked. Click OK when done, making sure to do this for all entries.
Your keyboard should now wake your PC from sleep
