Battery needs replacing

Hi,

I bought a laptop 2 years ago and today Windows has told me that I should consider replacing my battery.

I have an Optimus Series (15.6"). How do I know what battery I need, and where do I get a replacement?

According to my order, the battery is:
"Optimus Series 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (5,200 mAh/76.96WH)"

Thanks.

I'll wait for someone more knowledgeable to post, but for comparison my Cosmos II it says:
62.16WH battery for 15.6" Cosmos III £49.00

Just checked for my laptop. Also £59 for a spare Optimus V 17.3" battery.

If you remove your battery there should be a part number on the back which you could google...

Not to scare you but if you do go down the third party route be very careful where you buy. Not all battery packs are made to the same standard and it wouldn't be the first time a third party lithium-ion battery pack has went on fire. You're definitely safer ordering the OEM battery from PCSpecialist.

Just for comparison sake, replacement batteries for Dell computers range from £48 to £122 (!) depending on models and sizes...

OK thanks. Will have to make a decision.

Also for comparison, I've replaced batteries for family members numerous times and they've all been about 20 euro off eBay, with free or cheap delivery, as opposed to £19.
