Updated. Sorry for the delay guys!
Big update that one. Bye bye Tom_gr7 off the top 10.
The laptops competition is very fierce now. I know it's because it is very similar hardware but it is very close all the same. Is it me or are some people starting to overclock their laptop cards?? Brave...!

An extra 100 points on 3DMK11 is nothing , those crazy mofos over at Notebook review are getting 7000+ scores. :S

Definitely. I went through many 5870s on my crossfire laptop. No one would be brave enough to admit OCing here though for obvious reasons ;)

Hey guys - Just received my second laptop from PC specialist - Vortex 3 elite - 7970m CF , 3610 . What a beast !

Anyway, first thing i did once set up was run 3D MARK11 as i know it should get some crazy numbers :

9828 marks!

Hopefully as better drivers come out it should go even further up and pass 10,000 no sweat!

Really stoked so far, will do a review soon.

Vortex III P6067

Hi All

3DMark11 V1.0.3.0
Vortex III i7-3940XM / GTX680M / 2 x 8GB RAM / 2 x Intel 520 480GB SSD
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4682104

3DMark Score P6067
Graphics Score 5875
Physics Score 9125
Combined Score 4827
Graphics Test 128.29 FPS
Graphics Test 227.17 FPS
Graphics Test 336.24 FPS
Graphics Test 417.6 FPS
Physics Test 28.97 FPS
Combined Test 22.45 FPS

3DMark11 does not fully recognise the CPU as yet and mis-reports the RAM speed.
This rig is fully configured with software, running at stock and not specifically modified to achieve spectacular benchmark scores and thus represents a "real world" performance.
Nevertheless, it looks like a possible contender for the leaderboard?

Most definitely.

It could become the fastest single GPU mobile system, seeing as there are posts for 8.6k in i7-3920XM + GTX 680M configuration - http://www.3dmark.com/search

Search for i7-3920XM and select Number of GPU: 1, since 3DMark still haven't updated to recognise the 40XM version.

EDIT: There are entries for 8.7k with the Intel Core i7-2920XM Processor, which is previous generation. Both cases are OC, ofc.

Steaky not sure why my cards have to be clocked a bit to beat you, I know your CPU is better though which is why I clocked it higher, you could easily take it back if you turned it up a bit :)

Good effort! I'm not overclocking my graphics cards (not for a good while anyway). I'll re-run the benchmark with a wee overclock on the CPU though and see how it copes.

I think all the 690s are standard (reference). Don't think there are differences between the brands. Could be wrong though

Yours seem to be performing better, can't run my CPU @ 4.4 now it is starting to shutdown, going to run at 4.2 and tweak the GPU.
