Best Browser?

I used IE for a long time as a PC noob. Then, I discovered Firefox and its world of add-ons. Then, Chrome appeared and wipped the floor with FF in terms of speed on my fastly-overheating laptop. I was hesitant to change at first but then Google brought out the Chrome store.

Now I use Adblock on Chrome. Plus theme changes and sync with your Google account is all available and it was long before Firefox. Chrome wins also on clarity and ease-of-use of interface and it's proven it shows the biggest part of a website whilst FF gets a lot of toolbars even if they are useful. So Chrome was the obvious winner for some time for me. It starts up really quickly as well.

Dare I say it, IE has closed the gap and the new improved features like a list of what add-ons slow down your load times is really useful. Still, Chrome is on top. And yes, I do browse a lot :p.

I use Chrome at home, though I do miss the pop-up/ad blockers from Firefox.
Use Firefox at work, cos it can rather nicely ignore the work proxy so I can therefore look at various gaming sites that our proxy normally blocks :)

No reason not to use Adblock. It's available. Just go to the Chrome Store or the Extensions Store.

From all of the tests I've seen Chrome and Opera are usually the ones to come out on top for speed and performance but I'd rather use firefox even if it took 5 seconds longer to load a webpage simply because of all the personas and addons that I use with it.

Speaking of AdBlock...

If you use it, it hides the link from this forum to the main PCS website. Look at the top of the page in the white space between the header and the posts and if you can't see a large pcspecialist logo, it's being blocked by AdBlock. Just disable AdBlock on this site and the logo will appear - you just click on it to get to the main site (useful if you want to check details for yourself or to help answer posts).

^^^

With Adblock on chrome (and I think FF but not sure nowadays) there's a scroll scale where you can adjust what and how much of the site/ad is blocked. I am using Adblock and the logo is there. Again, Chrome def comes on top in most departments.

It's the only box-out on the forum - that's why I suggested simply disabling for this site. There are more options available but it seemed like overkill in the circumstances.

Hmm so G-Chrome seems the favourite? Interesting to see IE crawl its way back from the grave... I know that IE was the most popular browser used for downloading another browser lol
