Bit of a weird one, potential overheating CPU

I admit I'm new to AMD CPU's but my stats show under regular background programs loaded I'm running at 59-61 degrees C, granted this doesn't really go up much unless under heavy load, but it seems a tad high?

I have the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.7GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4) chip

CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE - with 2 intake fans

Corsair H100i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler

Everything works, my PSU & GPU both have zero RPM modes which woork, I am using Ique controlling the aio in 'balanced mode'

If I stick all that onto 'Extreme mode' and unload all background tasks I can get the CPU down to 54 degrees C

----------

Am I worrying unnecessarily or is my system running hot?

(I do intend putting in a 3rd 120mm fan in the front for extra intake)

There are two metric that you take with temp monitoring:

Idle, this means absolutely nothing but the OS and required drivers running.

Under load, this means with a stress test like Prime95

Anything in between doesn't really have any meaning as it's all dependent on CPU load at that point.

Ok after a 10 minute run I got a brief Max of 89 degrees, stabilised at 87, interestingly it seemed to think it started at 49 degrees despite other monitors showing it at 60 initially.

Whatever IQUE uses also Core Temp (Rainmeter needs this) plus I can reboot and look at the BIOS reading.

(still at 49-51 degrees btw) wonder if the stress test cleared out something.

This is why you only measure on idle or under load.

Taking a measurement when you have other things open isn't a valid test as you have no baseline, even if it's the same programs open, they could be using a lot more resources at that point because of background operations.
