I’ve just seen the 4070ti just been announced ???? should I wait ?
If you can wait, i think it will be exorbitantly expensive, but performance wise it will be good.

Apparently nvidia and AMD are currently being investigated by Europe and the US for price fixing.

I don't think any of the 4000 series are bang for buck, they're too expensive.

The only ones I would say are worthwhile are the 7900XTX at the moment.

So I’ve given the link to my wife. I have this feeling she might of changed the graphics card to a 4080 as previously I had said that’s what I wanted. Will the 4080 be okay with this set up ? She’s being very secretive about it and I’m like oh don’t change stuff you don’t understand. 😂 I barely understand it.

It'll work fine; it's just not good value for money!

Godlike
As long as she didn't change any other components the PC will be fine and a gaming behemoth. It will blow your £2500 budget though as the 4080 is quite a bit pricier...

What a pity! But the good news is that there are some new parts coming out in that time and some of them look very tasty, so it might be a blessing in disguise...

I feel for you.

I did a short term contract for the highways agency in one county, they actually had an annual budget set aside to pay out for pot hole damages to rims and bodywork, that budget was actually about double what they paid each year in maintenance on road surfaces.

Go figure, made no sense at all, but us as contractors they wouldn't listen to any sense.
