Clearly the AMD build. You've got faster cores and 2 more of them to boot. Will help a lot more with your editing.
AMD will always give more value for money.
If you can afford it change to one of the GTX cards, ie GTX460 +. Extra cuda cores will help with video editing.

I would certainly go for the Core i5-760 and its by far a better all round chip, unless u spend most of your time encodind/decodind HD footage) ???????

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2010/10/15/intel-core-i5-760-review/1

When Custom PC(and Tom's hardware/Which mag) reviwed the AMD PHENOM II X6 1100T it found that the midrange Core i5-760 beats the 1100T BE comprehensively "in everything but heavily multi-threaded tasks"

"If we were judging the 1100T BE in isolation you’d probably be seeing a big shiny gold circle just a few inches below this paragraph. The CPU improves on the previous 1090T BE at stock speeds due to its slight clock bump, and it also proved to be a lot more overclockable than the older chip.

In the real world, there’s the problem of Intel and it’s frankly unfairly good chips. The £140 Core i5-760 beats the 1100T BE comprehensively in everything but heavily multi-threaded tasks, with the £210 Core i7-930 even further off into the distance. And then there’s the spectre of Intel’s Sandy Bridge, with rumours telling us that this mid-range CPU family could overtake even LGA1366 processors for outright performance"

Just when i thought i'd made up my mind...... cheers Stappa lol.
Well if those bi-tech tests are anything to go by the 1100T doesn't look very good does it?

The i5-760 beats it comfortably in pretty much everything including gaming and having done a spec with it in it's no more expensive.
And for just a bit more an i7-950 based system would absolutely cane the 1100T.
What to do...?

either the i5 760 or stretch your budget and go for the i7 950?(its not just CPC/Bi-tech that came to that conclusion, all major review sites have the same conclusion?)its a bit like driving a ford focus 1.3 or a bmw m5 they both do the 'Job' but.......lol

Has anyone else got a thought on this?

the latest spec comes out at over a grand (inc monitor) and i just can't justify that amount.
got to keep it to about £800 complete.

OK - I've almost got to £800 for you, just £33 over budget. I've changed the following:

1. RAM to 4GB. 8GB is too much for your budget and not essential.

2. Motherboard - unless you need SLI capabilities, the cheaper option is fine.

3. Extra cooling - on an £800 budget it's not needed, but optional.

4. Windows 7 Pro - again it's not needed, it's optional. Stick with Windows 7 Home. Compare here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/compare

5. PSU - unless you plan to go down the SLI route, a 450W is all that's required.

With this spec, you're still getting the same CPU, graphics card, a decent amount of RAM, a 1TB hard drive and your 22" iiyama monitor. :) I think it looks good:
