bought oc pc from specialist but still says it running at stock speeds

i bought an oc i5-3570k @4.6ghz custom pc from pcspecialist it arrived today and is working well only issue is that when i checked components in computer then system properties its saying my cpu is i5-3570k 3.4ghz @3.4ghz is my cpu actually oc'd or not as i would think it would read i5-3570k 3.4ghz @ 4.6ghz or something along these lines if anyone can suggest another way to check my cpu ghz to find out if they did oc my cpu or not it would be a big help

Remember that with the newer generations of CPU's they only go to higher speeds when required, so you will not see it overclock until you do something that requires it.

So, find something CPU intensive, run it and check the speed when its busy - you probably want something like CPU-Z to see get a real-time view of the clock speed if you haven't already got something like that.

cheers rak but it was running at stock speeds it had been oc'd in a profile in bios but the profile had not been selected so it was running at stock had to go in and select the right profile before it was sorted but cheers for your reply and i will double check with cpu-z wheni install somehting cpu intensive

You could try prime95.
