Hi,

One of our faithful desktops bought from PC Specialist in 2013 is in need of a refresh. Sorry for the static spec but it's way too old for me to link to anything.

This dual-boots windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 and is mostly used for CAD and office work, plus it runs a few virtual machines when in Ubuntu (hence the stack of RAM). No gaming. It's connected to 2x QHD screens.

It is a brilliant machine and that Antec case is so well built, much better that our later purchases.
I'd really appreciate some suggestions for the following:

New video card. This machine now lags running CAD so it needs a better video card. Nothing amazing, just more on-board memory, 2x DP connectors and as quiet as possible.
The cooler is dying. It's done quite well for 7 years, but too often now the BIOS reports a CPU 'fan error' for the pump. Will probably replace like-for like.

Can we upgrade the CPU any? Sorry but we don't have in-house knowledge of what works with what, though we would be able to assemble. I imagine CPU / Motherboard upgrade would get quite pricey, but might consider it.

Thanks!
