BSoD coming out of sleep

I received my new desktop yesterday, set everything up, and then it was bedtime, so I sent my PC to sleep. When I got up this morning, I woke it up....and it crashed...BSoD style.

I have attached me dxdiag.txt, but for some reason it wasn't allowed. I was looking for a way to connect directly with technical support, but this seems to be the primary way.

Also, when I bought my computer, it said I'd be receiving a free copy of the Borderland Pre-sequel as a result of buying the GTX 770. How do I go about getting access to that?

Thanks for your help.

Whilst us lot on the forums are a helpful bunch we are not an official channel of support, PCS's contact details are:
Tel: 0333 011 7000
Email: [email protected]
But I'm sure a few forum members can try and make some useful suggestions, so you may not end up having to phone/email them :)

There should be NVidia voucher in your welcome pack, it'll have a CD key on it.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I found the voucher.

I have something I have to do today out of the house. Hopefully that will be adequate time for this thread to fill with helpful theories as to what is going on. If not, I'll skype PCS tomorrow and see about getting some more direct help. I just pray that they aren't going to make me jump through scripted loopholes like making sure my cables are correctly plugged in. **shudder**

If you upload c:/windows/memory.dmp or the files in c:/windows/minidump we can see what's causing the bsod

Ok....here is a zip of the dmp file which is dated today. There was another file in the folder that predates my computer's arrival and I can include that one if you think it necessary.

That should do it, I'll take a look later on if not tomorrow.

So looks like Avastsvc.exe is causing the bsod. Perhaps uninstall and reinstall. Also may be worth doing an sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt

Wow...so what does this all mean? Can I expect this to continue if I put my computer to sleep?

Unless you do steps to correct it it will always happen. Avasts service is conflicting with the sleep request and causing a bsod.

I would uninstall avast, then run an sfc \scannow in an elevated command prompt, then reboot and reinstall avast.

I did as you said, and the scan found some corrupted files and fixed them. I've included the CBS log file in case that would be useful. I just put my computer to sleep and it come out of hibernation without any error, so, fingers crossed, I think this might be solved. Hopefully, I don't find myself here again for some time. Thank you so much again. You were extremely helpful.
