Budget Home Office Setup

Hi Everyone,

I trying to find a good home office setup for around €1600, I've configured a couple of setups using intel processors. However after reading some info on this forum I am now looking at using AMD. Can someone please give me some advice about the system listed below. It will mainly be used for android/java development and the usual office software suite.

Thanks for the reply, I have a spare 8GB RAM set here so was going to just pop that in (taken it that there are 2 RAM slots). One question how important is the actual box in terms of config?

You need to make sure that the RAM matches to prevent problems. There will be 4 RAM slots on the board. Ryzen processors like fast RAM and 3200 MHz is the sweet spot. The case is one of the most important areas of the build, as it governs air flow and cooling of the PC. Choosing a case with poor air flow will limit the performance and life of your PC.

Unless you're going to be doing gaming and I suppose depending on what your Android development looks like, the 1660 is overkill. Ideally you probably want one of the AMD APUs that will hopefully fingers crossed be listed by PCS 🤞 The 5700G would be ideal for you, I think.

If not, something like the 1030 would probably be sufficient.
