Build advice - Video editing and animation rendering

Hi Guys,
Would appreciate your thoughts on this build. It will be for a triple 27" 2560x1440 setup and be primarily used for video editing and animation rendering. I don't play many games, mainly MMORPG. I live in Greece so need to consider the heat element, hence the liquid cooling and although I would prefer AMD as I believe this is better for multi use, I hope this will be ok.

Much better, yes. The only thing I’d question is the soundcard, they’re not really needed these days, especially with ASUS boards as the on board sound is so good.

And also memory speeds, is there any higher than that? Ideally you’d want 3200mhz which is the sweet spot for current AMD processors.

But otherwise, that’s a sweet rig, faultless!

Highest 64gb memory they provide is 2933Mhz.
Also for the price soundcard doesnt really matter. I've always preferred one that isn't onboard. Habit I suppose.

Just worth adding, AMD processors don’t overclock in the same way that intel do, they actually have an auto overclock which will apply to the strongest cores to achieve much higher boost clocks that applying an all core overclock which this is which will only achieve speeds on the weakest core.

Now in purely multithreaded workloads which I think yours will be, you may see up to a 10% improvement over stock clocks. But, it will come with a bad side of much higher temperatures which may not be optimal in Greece as it’s quite hot anyway.

But, worst comes to worst, you can just disable the overclock profile in the BIOS without affecting anything, you can literally switch between the overclock and default. You may find the default clocks actually get better performance overall due to better thermal ceilings.

I assume so, yes, and then you'd need to maintain it perhaps once every 18 months, flush it out and refill it. I can't actually find all the information regarding this on the site anywhere unfortunately.

I'm sure they'll advise you on all that, but may be worth a call if you need further info on it.

My main usage will be gaming but I also do a lot of Adobe video and photo work. I have a large display 3840x2160. I have read somewhere that Adobe doesnt like AMD (cannot remember where I read it.) Is this the case? Should I go for Intel instead. Could someone also confirm that the motherboard will work with Windows 11?

I have an AMD processor and use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom with no problems. AMD beats Intel in benchmarks for these products at Puget Systems

I'd be inclined to think you might be better off with the 16-core 5950X rather than the 24-core 3960X, given that single-core speed is important for a lot of the work you are doing, and it will be far, far better for gaming.

I'm assuming with animation rendering you must be doing houdini/fx animation work? seems insane to go with a double gpu build and threadripper but if you haven an insane budget then im hella jealous, this will be a beast 🙂
i work in animation and as a hobby i wanna take up more cg stuff (unreal engine, fx , realistic rendering etc) but i still had to budget so i opted for the 5950x and a rog strix 3090 build instead, im hoping it will do what i need , its currently in build phase now finally 😁

Usage will be for 50/50 split with video editing and gaming (Mainly MMO but would of course like the option of high end gaming in the future).
Main concern is the noise and cooling. Will it be a quiet system and will there be enough cooling with the dual Processor cooling and the extra fan?
