After looking at this thread I made some changes to my build with the processor cooling and with regarding to the thermal paste I'm assuming the standard one would be the one that the Corsair cooler one comes with?

The processor isn't the best on the market wise for gaming and streaming which is the main thing I'll be using this build for would the 850w RMx be fine for somebody who doesn't intend to overclock (as I don't understand it )?

Forgot to adds should I add extra case fans or would the standard ones with the case potentially be enough? The PC is going to be used primarily for gaming and streaming and I don't play games on high settings, mainly Medium.

This is my first custom PC ever 😁

Hi Crossy ! Looks good but why go with Intel instead of AMD ? Honestly in the long run you'll get more from an AMD 5900X or 5950X.

Regarding PSU, you should be fine with the 850W. Personaly I went overboard with a 1000W but it's just in case :D.

I've always been an Intel person so my automatic reaction was to just go for an Intel. In the past I've had an AMD processor and it was a bad experience this was before they started to get really good from what I've been hearing. And also I don't understand the clocking that you can do on the AMD and how to utilize it to how I would use it which would be for gaming and streaming.

Would you say 5900X and 5950X are better than 10900K?

For gaming and streaming the 5800x is probably the best pick. You could go up to the 5900x, but probably wouldn’t make much use of the extra cores. What monitor are you intending to use with the 3080ti? That really needs a monster to justify the spend and use he available performance (e.g. a G9). Anything less and the GPU will likely be bottlenecked by the monitor.

Entirely different levels, those two processors outperform intels HEDT lineup for significantly less money, and better performance for gaming also.

Intel are now the poor choice like AMD were a few years ago.

Ah right ok. Just building a system that would last for a long time and not have to worry about low fps and be able to do things I use it for. I'd be open for a change in processors if it'll be really beneficial in the long run. As for monitor I'll be using BenQ Zowie XL2546.

After watching videos and forums for a while really debating AMD now 😅 I'll consider tonight. I cannot amend to a AMD on the site but do you think phoning up they would be able to do it?

Yes, a lot of people have been able to do it over the phone without losing their place in the queue.

Make sure you have a quote all ready for them though.

I'm going to sound stupid because I'm confused (blonde moment most likely 😅) when you mean have a quote ready do you mean about the CPU? Thanks!

Realised that after I sent the previous message, just done the quote. Appreciate the help from everyone!

G7 would work well also

@CROSSY. If you don't play games on the highest settings, why do you think you need a 3080Ti? If you just want a 3080Ti since it's effectively the top gaming card in the Nvidia stack (the 3090 being for other uses) then that's fine. It's seems to me that a 3080 (£300 cheaper) would be fine, possibly even a 3070Ti or 3070, depending on exactly what monitor you pair it with.

As above, a Superwide or 4k 144hz
for gaming, superwide is not the best option.. Ultrawides and Superwides are niche resolution that is often than not even properly supported, like sometimes not option at all, or cutscenes having black bars.

So as he asked for GAMING, 4k 144hz would be better option :)

ps. i love my ultrawide, but it is pain in the butt sometimes

I'm hesitating between the G7 and the acer nitro 34" UWQHD.

i love my ultrawide, when it works, it is brilliant.
But that is the problem, when it works... So many times i have to tweak files, hex edit EXE or install mod to make ultrawide work. And there is the trouble of almost never having cutscenes in 21:9

If you dont mind the troubles of tweaking, or you dont mind black bars on the side, ultrawide is amazing.
If you rather have hassle free gaming grab the G7

Hi guys, phoned up PCS to get my order switched over and they said they can do it. I also asked if this would effect my place in the queue and they said yes it would which is a shame but I've just got to deal with it.

With regarding the 3080Ti I've noticed you guys have been saying about 4k 144hz monitors to go with it, how would a 1080p 240hz pair with it and if I were to play Medium/Max? I know I'm not using the card to it's full potential I'm kind of in a mindset that if I get it, it would last me years to do what I use it for. As you can tell I'm not a PC builder 😅

1080p 240hz is 497 664 000 pixels per second.
4k 60hz is 497 664 000 pixels per second, so same.
4k 144hz is 1 194 393 600 pixels per second, so more than double.
Ultrawide 2k (3440x1440) at 144hz is 713 318 400 pixels per second.
Ultrawide 2k (3440x1440) at 100HZ is 495 360 000 pixels per second, same as 4k 60, almost

Just to give you an idea
