Looks like a great build. It'll do 1080p 144Hz now and can probably do 1440p 60Hz in most games at reasonable settings. Moving to 1440p 144Hz would just require a graphics card upgrade.

The only thing I'd mention is the fans: the 4000D doesn't come with loads of fans. It is worth considering getting at least one extra fan to put in the front, or, if you like the RGB look, getting three matching ones. But that's definitely not necessary!

Thanks for the reply! I will look at adding some more fans then, do you think it would be worth getting the 2060 super for the extra power or would the 2060 be sufficient?

I'd stick with the 2060 and save the £130 or whatever it is for a monitor+GPU upgrade down the line.

Oh and if you want RGB fans and are happy to fit them yourself, I'd order the three-pack of Corsair SP120 Elites: you could then remove the extra fan from the order. (I did something similar and it wasn't difficult.)

Do you recommend another case that would have more fans if I didn't wanna put them in myself or just adding the extra 1-2 in my build ok? And would you recommend upgrading to 3600mhz ram?

Wouldn't particularly recommend the faster RAM as it makes very little difference, but would fully recommend the 5000X case (or the 4000X if you order elsewhere and send it in). I don't know about the other case you suggested: I imagine it's perfectly good but can't honestly swear to it.

Looks pretty good, about the only change I'd make would be up the PSU to the 850W RMx that will give you plenty of headroom for things like GPU upgrades in the future.

When you decide to upgrade to 1440p, you'll just have to upgrade the graphics card

I agree with @Martinr36 as I think you’ll need the GPU upgrade at the same time as the monitor. The 2060 just ain’t gonna cut it for AAA gaming at 1440p 60Hz by the time you buy a new screen, you’ll be looking at medium/lower settings to scrape by.

If you were to recommend a GPU for 1440p what would you say? 3060? Just wondering if it's worth spending the little extra to get it now.

I wouldn’t bother, if it was me. I’d get the 2060 now and enjoy top end 1080p, and then save up my money with the aim of buying a new monitor at the same time I get a new GPU. Works out cheaper in the long run.

I can’t overstate the importance of screen matching 👍

You’d really want something like the 3060Ti or 3070 for 1440p, but by the time you buy your new monitor, there could well be a new GPU out that blows those away.

There's a massive gulf in what's on offer right now. The 3060 isn't really powerful enough; the 3060 Ti doesn't exist; the 3070 and the 6700 XT are wildly overpriced; the 3070 Ti is barely an improvement over the 3070. Since you won't see any benefit until you buy a new monitor, they'd all be a waste of money for you.

As @AgentCooper says, you'd do best to stick with the 2060 for now.
