Hey,

Any thoughts on this build for gaming? I'm pretty sure it'll be able to run games at 1080p no problem, but is there anything I can tweak to make sure I have the option to upgrade to 1440p at some point?

Can you post your monitor, budget, link to the build and your uses for the pc?

your storage is insanely low, literally half of COD MW file. You’ll want a small m.2 (500gb) for OS and a few other files, you need super fast loading on, then i’d recommend a larger (1TB) m.2/ssd for your games.

you have very slow ram which isn’t good.

your motherboard is complete overkill and will eat a huge chunk of your budget. A B550 should really fulfil your needs. However an x570 would be more futureproof.

it’s an okay gpu, but i’d really wait until the 3050 and 3060 are released.

Psu, you want a fully modular one, i’d recommend RMx850w.

drop the cooler, you don’t need it.

Here's a link with your suggested changes + the 3060ti as a placeholder (the RX5700 seems to have disappeared from the list since yesterday): https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/MEJxBuRPXA/

Also, should have mentioned, I already have a relatively new SSD which I would transfer to the new build, so I just picked the cheapest option available. I currently have a BENQ GL2250HM (1080p,60Hz) monitor. It'll be used primarily for gaming, including recent AAA titles at decent graphics settings.

Budget is £1000-1100.

I was debating which gpu to go for, that one was available and seemed to have good reviews, but if the 3060 looks like good value then I'm open to waiting. What are your thoughts on the 2060 or 1660ti?

How beneficial is modular over semi-modular? Just because the smallest modular psu is 750w which seems like overkill for this?

Your budget 1100 even if just without a monitor is pretty tight. Maybe better save more and get a PC after 6-9 months?

You have to decide what are you aiming to: 1080p or 1440p.

If 1080p for AAA tiles you take 2060 or 1660 Super, but 1660 Ti is not worth as performance isn't great comparing to price difference.
If 1440p for AAA you take something higher, 3060Ti maybe?

If you have SSD, just get m.2 500gb for your OS and your current SSD can be used for games.

Modular over semi-modular - you can google about it.

You need 750W or 850W PSU for future compatibility with better and more power hungry GPUs as you'll upgrade after a few years.
