Can I change a laptop?

Hi. My mom have a laptop a Samsung np355e4x. We never use it after I think it broken but I think I want to ask her if I can have the laptop if she gave me
I will send it to be fix. This is the question. I think about to add more ram to it.Is it possible?

You need to check local repair shops and ask for an estimate, doing directly from Samsung is likely to be more expensive

not very good, even not very demanding games are likely to be unplayable
