Hi all,

Its been years since I bought a laptop from PCS and I'm eyeing up a 2nd one. Its just over a yeah old and wondered if I can extend its warranty to 3 years platinum once transfer of ownership has been carried out.

Regards

Jim

The original owner should be able to transfer ownership and remaining warranty to you, note that it is them that has to do it, you cannot do it yourself (to stop anyone getting a warranty if it's been stolen)

If the original warranty for parts has run out then you will not be able to extend it (this is how most warranties work), I believe it has to have at least 3 months left on the parts warranty to be able to extend it but this may have changed.

I do believe you can extend an existing warranty if it's still in effect, but not if it's expired.

Thanks for the reply. The gentleman bought 1 year standard, so parts would have been 1 year so I'm pretty sure that has now lapsed. Don't know if the above serial can be checked by a pc specialist employee. Might be worth giving them a ring.
